DESCRIPTION:Want to get out on the water and celebrate the action that is the 2026 Finn Championships?  Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron is proud to be hosting this international event – the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and right here in Manly\, Brisbane!    We have a full line-up of sailing and events all throughout the month of February – but if you want to experience Finn racing like no-one else\, book your ticket on the Lady Brisbane for a day of racing and celebration on Moreton Bay! \nBoarding from Bill Kirby Jetty at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly at 11am\, this cruise will take you and your friends out to the start line after a circuit of Green Island to watch the boats jostle for a clean start.  Follow them around the marks and see who can make the most of the wind and smart tactics to get out in front!  Cheer the Aussies on as they battle it out with the internationals and show them what Brisbane has to offer in the lead up to the 2032 Olympic games! \nYour day will begin with boarding at 1100 at Bill Kirby Jetty at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron\, Manly.  Enjoy four hours of cruising with a full bar and hot snacks available to purchase onboard\, supported by live commentary by our professional Master of Ceremonies\, helping you to understand what is going on and why. \nDon’t just sit back and watch from the shore\, get out there and celebrate Lady Brisbane style! \n

We’re excited to kick off another Term of sailing and windsurfing with you all. \nRegister HERE \nTraining will resume on Sunday 1st February 2026\, with specific start dates outlined in the fleet training schedule. Please note that not all fleets start or finish on the same day! \nTRAINING DAYS:\nSUNDAYS – 01 February to 29 March (excluding 15th February) from 0830-1130hrs \n\nWind Foiling\n\nYOUTH SQUAD PRICING:\nSingle Handed Fleets: \n1 Session a week – Weekday or Weekend session option: $235.00\n2 Sessions a week – Weekday and Weekend session option: $335.00 \n\nIntermediate Opti\nOpen Opti\nILCA 4\nILCA 6\nWindsurfing\nWind Foiling\n\nPlease Note: \n\nPlease ensure that BOTH the skipper and crew register for 2-handed boats.\nIf you need to hire equipment\, please confirm availability with the Sailing Academy first\, then complete our Equipment Hire Registration HERE.\nIt’s important to note that each class has a minimum attendance requirement. SUMMARY:Clean Up Australia Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:It’s hard to believe that this initiative was the inspiration of one man\, Ian Kiernan\, AO. An avid sailor\, Ian was shocked and disgusted by the pollution and rubbish that he continually encountered in the oceans of the world. Taking matters into his own hands in 1989\, Ian organised a community event called ‘Clean Up Sydney Harbour’ with the support of a committee of friends. He expected just a few hundred volunteers. Instead\, 40\,000 people showed up\, sparking a national movement. \nOcean Crusaders is partnering with us this year!  It was founded in 2010 after founder Ian Thomson was confronted with the reality of seeing turtles killed by ocean waste. After a record breaking circumnavigation of Australia\, Ian decided to take action – to create the foundation to clean-up waterways and beaches and raise awareness of the problem with the people who use the oceans as a playground. \nYou will have noticed their blue wheelie bins for bottle recycling around the Squadron\, and equipment bins located all along the Esplanade with kit to clean up our foreshore all year around: \n       \n  \nHere at RQYS\, we believe in both group’s vision and are especially passionate about our beautiful marina and foreshore in Manly\, Brisbane.   Join us for a family-friendly morning collecting around the grounds of RQYS\, Inspiration Point/Dog Beach\, Davenport Drive and the Esplanade from Lota to Manly. \nIf you love Manly as much as we do\, let’s keep it beautiful together.  RSVP below and come along on Sunday\, 1st March 2026 and sign-in at Reception.   We will have a prize for the most rubbish collected (by weight) and a free sausage sizzle afterward as a reward for your efforts! \nWe hope you will bring the kids\, grandparents\, neighbours and more and join us for this special community event. \nProudly supported by The Yacht Sales Co. and Ocean Crusaders
