SUMMARY:Past Commodore's Cup
DESCRIPTION:This simplified event is focused around a morning affair in the predominantly sheltered waters of Waterloo Bay. Circumnavigating the scenic islands of Green and St Helena. The course is approximately 12nm long utilising either Traditional methods of navigation (No Electronics) or by GPS aboard either a conventional power boat or sailing boat under power. The gorgeous back drop of the ever expanding Port of Brisbane and city skyline makes for conversation upon returning to the Squadron. \nView the official event page HERE.

SUMMARY:Goodwill Cup Navigation Event
DESCRIPTION:The Goodwill Cup stands as the premier event in the Squadron’s Navigation Championship Program\, held annually since 1933. In 1961\, this prestigious competition expanded to include the Southport Yacht Club\, competing for the esteemed Goodwill Trophy. \nThe navigation event typically unfolds around Peel Island\, heading southward with an overnight anchorage at RQYS Canaipa. A significant part of the Goodwill Cup tradition is the camaraderie ashore following the event. \nThe presentation of trophies takes place at the conclusion of a Barbeque Breakfast at RQYS Canaipa the next day. The Goodwill Cup\, donated by Dr. J. Bostock and Dr. J. Nye\, is awarded to the winning Squadron Boat in the Traditional Division. Additional trophies are presented to the winners in the GPS Division. \nThankyou to our sponsors\, Trymax Marine Electronics\, Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard and Robert Oatley Wines. Without their generous support these events wouldn’t be so successful. Also\, thanks to the Power Cruising Group committee and volunteers for their assistance. \nResults for the Goodwill Trophy interclub competition are based on the performance of the top five boats from each club in both the Traditional and GPS Divisions. Dr. Nye also donated the magnificent Goodwill Trophy for the interclub competition. \nThe Navigation Event Program has fostered tremendous inter-club camaraderie\, with the Goodwill Cup exemplifying the great boating spirit that these events inspire. \nEnter HERE.
